Huguenots of Spitalfields SUMMER FESTIVAL UPDATE2

More than 2,200 people have attended Huguenot Summer events - in Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, Wandsworth, Soho and Spitalfields.

8th July, 3pm. Peter Duval, Deputy Governor of the French Hospital, will talk about how and for whom it was established in 1718. Townhouse, 5 Fournier Street. £12.50 including tea and cake.

 

9th July, 7pm. Dr Graham Tomlin explores the character of John Calvin, the inspirational leader of the Huguenots, whose thinking affected so many people across the world. Readings by Sian Phillips and Rodney Archer. Christ Church, Spitalfields. £8 and conc, £6

 

10th to 31st July. Fabric of the City, a display of contemporary textiles from fashion designers inspired by the work of Huguenot weavers and designers. Walks in Soho take place on 4th and 12th July, the City of London 11th and 18th July and on 15th August, Canterbury on 2nd August, Greenwich on 21st July, 12th and 19th September, Clerkenwell on 16th and 26th September and Spitalfields on 7th July, 4th, 8th and 29th August and 1st and 5th September.
